Parade Details:

The Veterans Day Parade will be held on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11th. The parade will travel through the City of Miami Beach, followed by a wreath laying ceremony and picnic. It will honor the men and women who have sacrificed to fight for freedom.. Commencing at 9:30 am, the parade will bring participants south on Convention Center Drive, heading east on 17th St. to Washington and then south to 11th St. where the parade will turn west on 11th St. before entering Flamingo Park.

The wreath laying ceremony and 21-gun salute at Flamingo Park will begin at approximately 10:30 am following the parade. A moment of silence will be observed at 11:00 am in honor of the First World War Armistice Day Tradition. Immediately following, Commissioner Libbin will be hosting a picnic for parade participants.

Commissioner Libbin has made it his mission to revive the Veterans Day festivities, adding the picnic which will be Kosher for all to enjoy. His outreach to schools, organizations and businesses to drum up marchers has been met with tremendous response in 2009 and he would like to exceed that in 2010.

Annual parade organizer and Vice Commander of the American Legion Miami Beach Post, David Patlack, said that “Commissioner Libbin has really helped to reorganize the parade to a greater honor for our Veterans. He is bringing in students and a plan that makes this the best Veterans Day on Miami Beach ever.”
